Asthma and bronchitis are two highly common diseases that are managed daily by primary care clinicians. Both diseases share the key symptoms of coughing, wheezing, and dyspnea. While asthma is generally classified as allergic or non-allergic, bronchitis is classified as acute or chronic. This section examines these conditions with an overview of each disease, their prevalence and impact, and the role of specific IgE blood testing in helping to identify symptom triggers and aid management of lower respiratory diseases (LRDs).
