Learn More About Underlying Allergies
What is an allergy? Simply put, it is your body’s heightened reaction to a substance or substances (allergens) that are normally harmless. Allergens in the air—like pollen, mold, and cat or dog dander—can cause sneezing, runny nose, or itchy/watery eyes, or inner ear inflammation that can lead to an infection. In many asthma sufferers, these allergens can also trigger an attack of coughing, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. In children, simple foods such as milk or eggs can trigger the itchy red rash of allergic eczema.
